Visiting Elder, Ronald Lawrence from Nashville, Tennessee, then presented an excellent sermon with his primary text being from Hebrews 4:14-16 with additional support from the entire book of Hebrews, Matthew 5:34, Isaiah 6:1 and 66, 2nd Chronicles 7:1, Psalm 81:10, Revelation 4, Acts Chapters 12 and 16, 2nd Kings 19, 1st Samuel 30, and numerous other scriptures. In his sermon, he emphasized how in the Old Testament temple only the high priest was permitted to go beyond the veil into the Holy of Holies, but we have a great high priest, Christ Jesus, that provides us with direct access to the very throne of the Most High God. Therefore, we can come boldly and confidently to the very Throne of God, not because of arrogance or anything we have done of our own merit, but because of the shed blood of His Son at Calvary. Elder Lawrence provided numerous scriptural examples of where King David, the Apostle Paul and Silas, and the Apostle Peter (or others on their behalf) came and obtained mercy and found grace in their time of need. In conclusion, Elder Lawrence emphasized that the Lord always give more than we seek and that we stand in need of the mercy and grace our Loving Savior every day, every hour, and every minute that we live.
