The church at Thyatira – Holy Conduct of church members

Today out Pastor Jonathan Cook taught from: Re 2:18-29 with supporting scriptures from Acts 16:12-14, Ro 1:24-25, Acts 5, 1 Ki 16:31, 1Ki 17, 1Ti 2:12, 2 Ti 3:13-14 and many others

Elder Cook began with the message from Jesus to the church at Thyatira was a message of how church members should conduct themselves holy before the Lord in their daily walk. He states from the bible that Jesus’s gaze is a flaming fire, Jesus sees through all circumstances and knows the true intent of our hearts, and at Thyatira he saw even the private promiscuous sins that were going. Elder Cook goes through the commendations to the church: Their charity, service,  faith, and patience, and works; and the last to be more than the first. Showing the spiritual growth that was happening at Thyatira. The Lord had somewhat against them because they allowed a women whom the Lord Jesus Christ referred to as Jezebel to speak, teach, and seduce and cause the Lords servants at Thyatira to commit fornication. 1. She usurped scriptural authority for spiritual leadership 2. She was a self proclaimed prophetess 3. The church permitted this to happen 4. She seduced other church leadership 5. She refused to repent.

She received timely judgment from the Lord because of her refusal to repent and in addition to those who followed her who did not repent.

Finally, Elder Cook pointed out that the Lord showed compassion on the rest at Thyatira by laying no other burden on them and encouraging them to hold fast to what they had.

We closed out by singing, “There is a fountain filled with blood” and shook hands and hugged each other.
