"Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us…" -Ephesians 5:1-2
"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. " - 1 Corinthians 1:18

Saul and Ananias

Pastor Jonathan Cook then preached and taught from Acts 9:10-20, and also used Galatians 1, 2nd Corinthians 11 and numerous other scriptures. Elder Cook recounted how Jesus not only instructed Ananias to seek out Saul and reassured him of Saul being a “chosen vessel,” but also through a vision prepared Saul to see a man named Ananias putting his hand on Saul so that he might regain his sight. Elder Cook provided special emphasis on how God frequently prepares both sides of an encounter prior to the actual encounter occurring, as He did for both Saul and Ananias. Elder Cook addressed how Saul was able to see very differently (spiritually) after the scales of ignorance were removed and his physical sight restored. Saul no longer spiritually focused on law and self righteousness but now began to preach Christ, and Him crucified – the very faith which he once attempted to destroy!
