"Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us…" -Ephesians 5:1-2
"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. " - 1 Corinthians 1:18

Church Covenant Part 1

Elder Jonathan Cook, our Pastor, then began preaching on the first part of our church covenant. His sermon used Eph. 4:1-4, Acts 2:42-47, 1 John 3:14:-18, 1:1-3, 4:6-19, Ps 133:1, Heb. 13:1 and various other texts. Elder Cook reflected on the importance of knowing our own church covenant, that it is not just a statement but much more – it is a promise to each other and to the Lord. Our church believes in keeping the covenant we have made to each other and to the Lord in additional to having a discipline in place. Elder Cook also emphasized that the early church practiced brotherly love, forbearance, humility, longsuffering, and when necessary to correct a brother that is in error – but to do so in love. We should strive for unity and peace within the Body of Christ.
